The 2nd World Tourism Marketing Summit—Beijing 2007 is an opportunity to network and learn from brightest how to develop strategies to enhance cooperation between the international business community and one of the world’s largest tourist markets. China’s emergence as a global tourism partner is growing at an explosive rate for both inbound and outbound traffic. The country hosted a record 124 million travelers in 2006 and the number of Chinese tourists traveling to foreign shores will swell to more than 100 million by 2020. Does your agency (or Country/State/Province, City, Company or organization) have a plan or vision to capture a portion of this lucrative market? China is still relatively new terrain for most players, and a healthy dose of local expertise can be the difference between success and failure. On the flip side, accommodating large numbers of Chinese tourists is a new experience for most destinations. Discover how to maximize your marketing efforts in view of their various demographics, as well as how to familiarize and prepare your staff to be aware of the needs and the cultural differences of the Chinese tourists in diverse international settings. The appearance of China as a leading tourism market only serves as a reminder of the importance of effective marketing at the global level. In light of this necessity, the World Trade University (WTU) Global Secretariat and its Global Partners present the 2nd World Tourism Marketing Summit (WTMS), hosted by Beijing Tourism Administration of the People’s Republic of China, from October 28-30, 2007, in Beijing. Join the leaders of the international tourism industry in discussing and developing various platforms to facilitate business cooperation in tourism marketing among international partners and Chinese domestics.
